 Pada awalnya, mouse ditemukan oleh Douglas Engelbart dari Stanford Research Insitute pada tahun 1963, pada saat itu, masih menggunakan kayu, jadi agak berat. Nah, berevolusi lagi menjadi 3 tombol. Pada tahun 1970an, Ia memperkenalkan mouse baru nih dengan nama X-Y Position Indicator, dimana kita tau bahwa X-Y itu adalah garis horizontal & vertikal.
